Teen Coaching
Parents often talk to me about their concerns about their children and their developing sexuality. Sometimes young people need someone to talk to who is not their parent, to help them sort through the challenges of being a teen, decisions about their bodies, sexuality and relationships. With 15 years of experience working with young people on leadership, empowerment and sexuality, Amy Jo can be the perfect adult for young people to connect with when they aren’t comfortable talking about certain things with their parents.
Young people who come to Amy Jo for coaching can expect:
• Confidentiality
• Honest, factual information
• Sensitivity
• Empowering guidance
• Access to resources
• A caring adult who understands the struggles many young people experience
Young people might seek coaching with Amy Jo to help them make decisions about sex, birth control, & healthy relationships, to learn more about their bodies and how to stay healthy, to find resources in their community, to learn how to better communicate their needs, to talk about identity or how to come out to their family and friends as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, or just to talk to someone who will listen.
Amy Jo is not a therapist. For therapeutic needs, she can make referrals. She is a coach, educator and mentor for young people. Feel free to contact her with more questions about how she might help a young person you know.
