Kitten is My Co-Pilot, San Diego Workshops + We On Fire

Just in case you missed my video this week, I have a new furry friend. You know how the universe provides based on what you're thinking about? Well, my sweet feline companion of 19 years, Pooka, passed away on Friday of Labor Day weekend in 2014 and this year, on Labor Day Weekend, a new [...]

What Surfaced From My Dark Night of the Soul

I've been quiet about what's been going on with me lately and I've got to tell you, it has been a dark night of the soul for sure. We all have them. Usually, for me, they happen when I am not doing what I really want to be doing in my life, or not spending my [...]

Sexuality & a 9-year-old’s Suicide

This is heartbreaking. I work with adults around healing and empowering their sexuality because no matter what our age, we need that. This week we lost a sweet 9-year old boy to suicide. Jamel Myles had come out as gay to his mom who accepted him and told him she loved him no matter what. [...]

The Archetype of the Fire Woman

The Woman On Fire, The Fire Woman is a powerful archetype, a woman who owns all of who she is without apology. What does “without apology” mean? She makes her choices and follows her own internal compass no matter what others throw at her. She doesn’t say she’s sorry for being, for her choices, for [...]

Claiming Your Own Authority

Every social ill, political standoff and war boils down to one thing at it’s root: People claiming their own authority—over their lives, bodies, health, livelihoods, sexuality, homes, land or well-being.   There are plenty of people who want to and do tell us what to do on a regular basis. Where Does the Unknown Scare You?

Tony Robbins, Victimhood, Guru-Complex & Leadership

This week we saw a horrendous display of abuse of power by one of the most well-known public speakers in the world—a person who could have chosen to use his platform to usher meaningful change, and instead gave men, abusers, harassers and onlookers a clear out. No need to care about this guys! Let’s break down how [...]

What if Sex Were Like Playing Music?

In Yes Means Yes: Visions of Female Sexual Power & a World Without Rape, Thomas Macaulay Millar– wrote an astute essay about our typical commodification model of sex and how problematic it is in terms of consent and negotiation to treat sex as transactional. When there is an approach of sex as a transaction, it inevitably leads to [...]

Be the Lover, Not the Hero

As the groundbreaking superhero film Black Panther is freshly released, this week the concept of being the hero and how much we are socialized towards a heroism model of leadership and healing has come up several times. I was the oldest child in my family and very much took on that hero role in my family constellation—being the [...]

The Creative Impulse is the Nucleus of Sexual Self-Actualization (It’s Not About How Much Sex You Have)

We are just a month into the new year and many people are abandoning their workout plans and stressing about their financial plans with the stock market crash. But what are we doing about our sexual lives? People are in a lot of pain about their sexuality. I talk to people all the time about what [...]
