Why I’ve Had Over 1,000 Pelvic Exams

From 2001 to 2011, I had the distinctively unique position of teaching medical and nursing students, and occasionally residents, in every major medical institution in New York City how to give proper breast and pelvic exams. What made this work so unique was that I used my own body as a teaching tool to work [...]

The Vulvalution Must Be Televised!

Now Ozzy: 6 Reasons We Need to Question Sex Addiction

Ozzy Osbourne is the latest in a string of people (almost always men) to diagnose themselves as “sex addicts.” As a professional sex educator who has spent 20 years advocating for healthy sexuality, I want to speak up and critique the idea of “sex addiction” as it’s commonly understood. What Gets in the Way of Sexual Confidence?

I’ve spent years studying how confidence works and I’ve found it’s the thing everyone wants the most and yet people don’t know how to develop it and often don’t recognize their own unique confidence style.   Here’s the thing about confidence: it is not one size fits all.   After studying confidence for years and how it [...]
